DAY SEVEN                             Monday, 25 December

Christmas day.  Normally I would be making vegetable  and French Onion soups in preparation for having the  family over for Boxing Day dinner.

Today we ate the last of the cereal for breakfast, packed sandwiches for lunch and went again to Malmok.

Took a group picture for four folks from Buffalo who were wearing Santa hats.

It rained like the dickens for about three minutes while we all huddled under our palapas.  The ocean was nice and we stayed in a bit longer this time.  But after lunch we headed back to our pool, then changed to go out for the evening.

First stop was happy hour at AMBR beach bar.  Monday Happy Hour at Amsterdam Manor has been a  meeting place for those of us on some of the Aruba-related bulletin boards. Yes, even on Christmas! We immediately connected with Gary (EagleBeachBoy) and Jurgen (head  honcho at AMBR) who kindly stood us a round of drinks.  We all chose Balashi (theme music, please.)

By and by Liz (Liz From NJ) dropped by.  Marc, chef at AMBR and now food services manager at The Mill Resort, was there as well.  He's a busy man these days.

Hank and I had met Liz at a party in Atlantic City but we'd not met Gary until now.  He's a really great guy - but that we knew already.  We all had a nice chat.  Then Liz took off on the bus  to the movies - the Rocky film - and Hank and I headed down to the Manchebo to take the required sunset shot.

French Steak House for dinner.

We booked this ages ago because we really like the FSH.  It did not disappoint.  We had the special menu - a soup to nuts sort of deal with champagne included. We did a flip flop and I had the churrasco and Hank the grouper. It was way too much, really, but we enjoyed ourselves. Much of the steak came home with us and made another meal for both!
