DAY TWO                          Wednesday, 20 December

Sleepyheads, woke late.  Only ice and water in the fridge.  Hmmm. Solution?  Linda's Pancake House where we had break ... er... brunch of Dutch pancakes and cranberry juice.

We tried to go food shopping at Ling's but I had lost my pen and couldn't cross things off my list and hated the store entirely (just as I hate food stores in the USA) so I put back the few things I had found and we went back home, stopping on the way to see if there were any bananas at the small stores we passed.  None. A woman just getting into her car as we reached one store had bought the last of the bananas there. *sigh*

A little later we drove around, got lost in O'stad and ended up shopping at Certified where I know where everything is.

Can't believe it's day two and we haven't gotten in the ocean yet!

We caught the early bird at Fishes and More (had to park way down the street).  I had the grouper which came with a hollandaise sauce - unnecessary as the grouper was great as it was.  Hank liked his filet and we both enjoyed salad and soup.

Back home, I wandered around outdoors in the back garden.  It's a fairyland of lights.  Magical, really.  All the parking spaces out front were filled, so everyone was home, yet it was profoundly  quiet in the gardens.

I liked the quiet.  I tried not to make any noise at all as I walked and I must have succeeded because I got within inches of a pega pega before he saw me and bolted.
