Preparing for Aruba VI

We have air and hotel booked for the first week in November. It will again be the Manchebo as it suited us well last year.

I have gotten it into my head that I want to participate in this year's National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) which happens to fall in November. The goal for the month is to complete a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. Clearly, allowing 8 of those days to go by without writing at all would be a huge drawback.

We (okay, I) deemed it impossible to lug our old laptop down to Aruba. It's fine, but just too heavy. I'm fine with writing in a marble covered notebook - but the thought of then having to type what is bound to be very sketchy first draft stuff into the 'puter on November 9th is too daunting. As it happens my birthday is drawing near - so today (with Mercury still retrograde) we went out to Circuit City and bought me a brand new Compaq. Very sweet.
